a germ, virus, and bacteria infested Christmas

Despite our recent battle with illness after illness, we did have a fun time with our families at Christmas. We were there for about a week. Just enough time to remind myself of how terribly bad I miss my family. On Christmas eve we drove as far as Salt Lake and stayed at the Hilton. Our original plan was to take the kids to see the lights at temple square and swimming in the hotel pool, but since Dan had the stomach bug along with Noah, they both went to bed when we got there. Anthon and I walked around a little, then headed to Denny's (it was about 10pm now) apparently everyone else in Salt lake had the same idea I did, because it was packed. After Denny's we went back and went swimming. Yep thats right I took my 4 year old swimming at 11:15 at night.

Denny's

After we went to bed Santa came and left loads and loads of presents. It was so much fun to wake up and see them all, and that he knew where we were even though we weren't home.

After we opened presents we headed up to Cache Valley. Despite my panic/anxiety attack as we were going through the slick, icy, and snowy canyon, and Dan telling me "if you don't say another word I will give you a thousand dollars" because of my "back seat driving" we made it.

Now to make a LLLLOOOONNNNGGG story short, we had fun. We didn't get to do nearly as much as we had hoped or see some of our good friends we had been looking forward to seeing because the sick just wouldn't leave, but it was fun. Oh and YES we did FREEZE!!
this next shot is perfect because we did find out this trip that apparently Anthon has quite the little temper. He even resorted to name calling which I had never witnessed before, but I guess I should be thankful that the only thing he could come up with to say was "poofer paul." it could have been worse, but nonetheless, Sorry Paul.

Total side note. This is Dan's mom's new car (well as of August new) Inside is Dan and our good friend Ed from St George that came up for a funeral. Good times.

Amy!
When Rich and I went to the Greek Isles a couple of years ago that car was everywhere! And everyone had it in red.
It is so cute- in a strange sort of way!

Sorry to hear about your germs. I also caught some sinus bug from the grand-babies, it has decided to make itself at home and never leave.

Happy Holidays,
Wendy :)

I'm glad you guys had a great Christmas, despite the cold and sickness! I see on your weather ticker that it's 27 degrees in St. George? That would probably feel balmy after it was 3 or so this morning here!!

It sucks we didn't get to see you, but then again I'm okay not being sick right now.

Sounds like y'all had LOADS and LOADS of fun! I have taken Michael to the McDonalds playground at 11:15pm before, we ate icecream and played on the toys. By the way you are looking so dang HOT-good job!

You're the coolest mom ever! I would like to think I would take my kids swimming that late, but I'm probably not brave enough. You're amazing!
