Over this last weekend I was able to go on a much needed girls weekend with Heather & Tami. We headed off to what we predicted to be sunny and warm San Diego. It ended up being 60 degrees and partly cloudy San Diego, but hey it WAS San Diego, and we had such a blast. It was a massive laugh fest from beginning to end!
Some bullet points from the trip:
*yep there are 2 terminals in the San Diego Airport so if you both say you are in baggage claim and can't see the other that is probably why
*Our husbands caution of "Whatever you do don't draw attention to yourselves since its just you girls" was ever so slightly violated, by the hideously ugly bright blue PT Cruiser we so luckily ended up with as a rental car
*It may take me a few hours, but eventually I will realise that there are so many Italian Restaurants in Little Italy BECAUSE its called Little Italy, not just by coincidence.
*The Mariachi Band inside of The Oldtown Mexican Cafe was worth the 45 minute wait itself (although when we were seated they were telling people it was an hour and a half wait, and people were actually waiting)
*Sleeping through the night DOES feel as good as it sounds (remember Noah STILL DOESN'T sleep through the night)
*The Original Pancake House has the most unbelievably amazing Fresh Strawberry Pancakes EVER!! (yes in the picture below Heather and I had already finished OUR plates and were now helping Tami with her Heavenly pancakes)
* There is no possible way that we would have been able to even leave the Rental Car shop if I had not Brought Victoria with us. (Vicotria is our Garmin GPS)
* Tami is REALLY scared of birds.
* People will lay out on the beach in their itty bitty bikinis even if it is only 55-60 degrees.
* I thought I saw someone drowning far out in the water, nope it was dolphin, which was way cooler to see then someone drowning
*The Parking in Downtown San Diego leaves MUCH to be desired. I think we spent more on parking then our shopping purchases.
* The Studio Cafe is well worth the drive (although it may have seemed like a long drive just because I may have not been listening to Victoria when she told me to turn and so she had to reroute me.)
*Every girl DESERVES a Girls trip for relaxation and renewal once a year. Yea for great friends!
*Everything I saw I thought "Dan would love this" so I guess we will have to take a trip back with me and the boys :)
*I didnt take near as many pictures as I should have. Bummer.
I left a bunch out, but if you want more then the Readers Digest version you can call and I will talk your ear off about it. ;)
