The day I got the ring

6 years ago today Dan popped the BIG question for reals. Yes ladies and gentleman just like Dan to do it on April Fools day. It was perfect. Now you may ask what I mean by "for reals" well let me explain, you see Dan has this thing he does that I like to call his "Surprise Effect" you know when you say something to someone who is completely unsuspecting. Yep thats dan.

For instance


there was the time i was on a date with my boyfriend at the time. Dan drove past and saw us down at the dance studio (we were doing dinner there) and stopped by. I introduced Dan to everyone and when he left he says "Ok I will see you all later. Oh and Amy I will see YOU at the Temple." Thats Dan. Never know what will come out of his mouth.


Or

The time he called me from Puerto Rico (keep in mind I hadn't seen or talked to him really in 2 1/2 - 3 years) I pick up the phone say hello and I hear "Amy this is Dan, whatever you do DONT get married before I get home....I can't live without you..." Yep I was surprised as they come.

Or

The time he came back from Puerto Rico, (Remember this is the first time I had seen him in 2 1/2 - 3 years), comes into my work and asks to take me to dinner that night. We go to Chilli's, sit down, and he says "What would you do if I asked you to marry me right now?" I said "I would tell you to ask me again later." To which he replied "Like after dinner?"

Who knew that 13 years after our first date, years of a "time out", and different boyfriends girlfriends and journeys for each of us, that we would be sitting here with two little boys and still just as smitten (ok a TAD bit more) then in High School (although with mountains less drama then there was back then. thank heavens).


so here's to you Mr throwing snowballs in my seminary class, giving me the shirt off your back, and throwing me in the hot tub with my sweats on guy. I LOVE YOU!!
